BladeCAD

BladeCAD is one of the packages from the RapidCAD web application. BladeCAD is specially made for industrial blade manufacturing companies. BladeCAD is unique in nature as it caters to the niche market of different types of blades. It has helped to reduce design time drastically. You just need to give the values of the parameters and you will get the blade instantaneously. All the parameters for the blade are inbuilt in the menu and the user can play with them to get their unique blade design.

The menu, parameters, nested tools, and user interface of this software are developed with an easy-to-use and user-friendly experience such that any person with knowledge of the Internet and English can understand the software and can give life to his designs.

Specialized people from the industrial blade field, have developed 8 types of blades, such as Circular Blade, Straight Blade, Pointed Tip Blade, Punch (Circular), Punch (Rectangular), Curved (First), Curved (Second), Dished Blade.

Circular Blade

Circular type of Blade comes with a set of parameters like Outer Diameter, Inner Shape, Keyway, Central Hub, Inner Chamfers, Blade Thickness and a separate option for Metal Insert.

Straight Blade

In Straight Blade, users can create teeth on both sides and also bevels on both sides. A user can change the length and height of the straight blade on all sides according to their needs.

Pointed Tip Blade

A pointed-tip blade is basically a triangular blade with a sharp-pointed tip in the center. You can align it anywhere using the parameters. For Pointed Tip Blades, Blade CAD provides two ways of designing. 1. Step-By-Step Procedure 2. The Free Design Method

Punch Rectangular blade is specially designed for punching. It’s also having a base insert with solid thickness and Standard holes.

You can use the Circular Blade using various parameters:

1.1 Mesh Quality

A better mesh quality ensures a more accurate solution. To improve the mesh quality for an accurate solution, you can choose between high-quality mesh, medium-quality mesh, or low-quality mesh, depending upon your needs. High-quality mesh models will take some time to load, but the results will be excellent.

1.2 Outer Diameter

Using this parameter, users can create the outer diameter of a circular blade based on the diameter of the outer edge of the circular blade.

1.3 Inner Shape

The inner shape will come out at the center mark of the circular blade. It will come in 3 shapes, like circles, triangles, and rectangles.

1.3.1 Inner Shape – Circle:

A circular hole will be in the center of the circular blade. It’s got one diameter parameter. A user can apply a diameter dimension to that circular hole in the center of the circular blade.

Note: Inner shape dimensions should not be more than the outer diameter of the circular blade.

1.3.2 Inner Shape – Rectangle:

The rectangle-shaped cut will be in the center of the circular blade. It’s got two parameters: length and width. Users can input length and width dimensions for that rectangular inner shape in the center of the circular blade.

Note: Inner shape dimensions should not be more than the outer diameter of the circular blade.

1.3.3 Inner Shape – Triangle:

The triangle-shaped cut will be in the center of the circular blade. It’s got two parameters: length and width. Users can set length and width dimensions for that triangular inner shape in the center of the circular blade.

Note: Inner shape dimensions should not be more than the outer diameter of the circular blade.

1.4 Keyway

A slot cut in the inner shape of a blade is a connector to ensure correct orientation with another part that is fitted with a key.

The keyway comes in 3 types: square, rectangle, and oval.

1.4.1 Square Type Keyway:

The keyway is basically a square shape. A user needs to give a length dimension to get this feature.

1.4.2 Rectangular Type Keyway:

The keyway is basically a rectangle in shape. A user needs to give length and width dimensions to get this feature.

1.4.3 Oval Type Keyway:

The keyway is basically an oval shape. A user needs to give length and width dimensions to get this feature.

1.5 Central Hub

As a central part of the circular blade, you can create a hub on both sides or even on one side. The central hub comes with three options to create central hubs on all sides of the blade.

Right Side, Left Side, Both Sides.

1.5.1 Right Side:

A user can be able to create a central hub on the right side. A user needs to enter hub diameter and thickness to get this feature.

1.5.2 Left Side:

A user can be able to create a central hub on the left side. A user needs to enter the hub diameter and thickness to get this feature.

Users will be able to create a central hub on both sides. A user needs to enter the hub diameter and thickness to get this feature.

1.6 Inner Chamfer

The inner chamfer tool creates a beveled feature on the inner hole of the circular blade. The user needs to enter the chamfer size to get the chamfer feature on the inner hole of the circular blade.

1.7 Thickness

The thickness of the circular blade A user needs to enter the thickness size to get this feature.

1.8 Metal Insert

To insert a new metal insert into the blades, just click the option of metal insert and choose the height depending upon your need.

2.1 Mesh Quality

2.2 Length

It’s the overall length of the straight blade. The user can adjust the length to suit their needs.

2.3 Left Vertical Height

The height of the left vertical side of the blade can be changed to 0 mm to suit the user's needs. We can make this height zero and also create a triangle blade.

2.4 Right Vertical Height

The height of the right vertical side of the blade can be changed to 0 mm to suit the user's needs. We can make this height zero while also forming a triangle blade.

2.5 Swap Direction

Changing the direction of the feature in opposite direction.

2.6 Thickness

The thickness of the Straight Blade. The user needs to enter thickness size to get this feature.

2.7 Metal Insert

To insert a new Metal Insert in the Blades, just click the Option of Metal Insert and choose the height depending upon your need.

2.8 Chamfer

The chamfer tool creates a beveled feature on these fixed areas like Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right.

2.8.1 Top Left Chamfer

Option for creating chamfer on the top left side. It’s having two dimensions Length 1 and Length 2 for creating a chamfer cut on the top left side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this chamfer.

2.8.2 Top Right Chamfer

Option for creating chamfer on the top right side. It’s having two dimensions Length 1 and Length 2 for creating a chamfer cut on the top right side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this chamfer.

2.8.3 Bottom Left Chamfer

Option for creating chamfer on the bottom left side. It’s having two dimensions Length 1 and Length 2 for creating a chamfer cut on the bottom left side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this chamfer

2.8.4 Bottom Right Chamfer

Option for creating chamfer on the bottom right side. It’s having two dimensions Length 1 and Length 2 for creating a chamfer cut on the bottom right side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this chamfer.

2.9 Fillet

Fillet/Round creates a rounded internal or external face on the part. You can fillet at the Top Fillet, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right areas.

2.9.1 Top Left Fillet

Option for creating a fillet on the top left side. It’s having one radius dimension for creating the fillet on the top left side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you won't use this fillet option.

2.9.2 Top Right Fillet

Option for creating a fillet on the top right side. It’s having one radius dimension for creating the fillet on the top right side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this fillet option.

 2.9.3 Bottom Left Fillet

Option for creating a fillet on the bottom left side. It’s having one radius dimension for creating the fillet on the bottom left side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this fillet option.

2.9.4 Bottom Right Fillet

Option for creating a fillet on the bottom right side. It’s having one radius dimension for creating the fillet on the bottom right side of the straight blade.  You can uncheck the box, if you don’t want to use this fillet option

You can use the Pointed Tip Blade using various parameters:

3.1 Length

Overall Length of the Pointed Tip Blade. Users can modify to any length depending upon their needs.

3.2 Height

Overall Height of the Pointed Tip Blade.  This height will be from the bottom to the Sharp Pointed Tip.

3.3 Left Height

Height of the Left Vertical side of the pointed tip blade.

3.4 Right Height

Height of the Right Vertical side of the pointed tip blade.

3.5 Top Profile Cut

The user sometimes doesn’t need this sharp pointed tip. Then the user can use this feature to cut that sharp pointed tip. Users have to give the dimension of Height from the bottom to the top profile cut.       

3.6 Thickness

The thickness of the Pointed Tip Blade. The user needs to enter thickness size to get this feature.

3.7 Chamfer

The chamfer tool creates a beveled feature on these fixed areas like Bottom Left and Bottom Right.

3.7.1 Bottom Left Chamfer

Option for creating chamfer on the bottom left side. It’s having two dimensions Length 1 and Length 2 for creating a chamfer cut on the bottom left side of the pointed tip blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this chamfer.

3.7.2 Bottom Right Chamfer

Option for creating chamfer on the bottom right side. It’s having two dimensions Length 1 and Length 2 for creating a chamfer cut on the bottom right side of the pointed tip blade.  You can uncheck the box if you don’t want to use this chamfer.

3.8 Fillet
Fillet/Round creates a rounded internal or external face on the part. You can fillet at the Bottom Left, and Bottom Right areas.

4.1 Mesh Quality

4.4 Thickness

The thickness of the Punch Circular Blade. The user needs to enter thickness size to get this feature. State of being thick, which measures the thick part of the Blade.

4.5 Metal Insert

To insert a new Metal Insert in the Blades, just click the Option of Metal Insert and choose the height depending upon your need.

4.6 Base Insert

To insert a new base solidly on the base of the Punch Circular just click the option of the Base Insert and choose the height of the base insert.

4.6.1 Height

4.6.2 Side Cut Distance from Center

Distance between the two cuts from the center.

4.6.3 Side Cut Depth

Depth of the Cuts

4.6.4 Standard Hole

Users can choose any national standard holes and standard cuts depending upon their needs.

4.6.5 Swap Direction

Swapping direction of the Hole.  Swapping from the bottom of the hole and the top of the hole.
